Privacy
For the 22 Stix pickup hockey group.
What we keep
Your name, the position you play, your email address and your mobile number, plus whether you are in or out for each game. Your organizer enters you on the roster; you can correct your own name and jersey number once you sign in.
Your card can also say the positions you play and which way you shoot. You fill it in, and your organizer can change it. Your organizers can also give each skater a skill rating from 1 to 5. It is used only to make even teams, and only organizers ever see it: not other players, and not you.
If you pay a drop-in or a season buy-in, we keep a record of the payment and its receipt: the amount, the date, how you paid and the e-transfer reference. We email you each receipt unless you turn that off. The record stays on your profile, where only you and your organizer can see it.
If you start a group, we also keep its name, its home rink and its game schedule, and the key your authenticator app uses, so we can check its codes.
What we do with it
We use it to run the Friday game: who is in, who is on the waitlist, and the reminders that go with it. Your sign-in code goes to your email address, or by text to your mobile once you have confirmed that number. Game texts go to your mobile only after you ask for them and reply JOIN to confirm.
No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
Nothing is sold at all. The only companies that touch your data are the ones that run the app for us: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (the database), Resend (email), Telnyx (text messages), Stripe (card payments), and Cloudflare, which checks the sign-in and join forms are being used by a person rather than a script. If you pay by card, Stripe takes your card details on its own page; we never see or keep your card number, only that the payment went through.
Who can see it
Other players in your group see your name, position and whether you are in for a game. Your phone number and email are visible only to you and your group organizer.
The Room
The Room is your group's chat. We keep the messages, who sent each one and when, the reactions, and when you last read each thread. Only the group's active members can read them; someone taken off the roster can't any more. There are no ads in it and nothing in it is used to track you.
Messages aren't end-to-end encrypted yet, so the people who run 22 Stix could read them in the database. We don't. You can delete your own messages, organizers can delete any, and every message is deleted for good when the time your group chose runs out (by default, when the season ends).
A photo is re-saved on your phone before it is sent, which removes where it was taken and the other details hidden in the file, and our server checks it again. Photos are stored privately, shown only to the group's active members, and deleted with their message.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications, we keep the address your browser gives us for that device, so we can reach it. Each notification is encrypted before it leaves us. Your browser's own service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft) delivers it but can't read it; it does see that one reached your device, and when.
On a locked screen a notification shows your group, the game time and your own news, never another player's name. Turn them off on Me, kind by kind or for a whole device.
Texts
Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts, or UNSTOP to start them again. Reply HELP for help. Game texts are usually three per game and never more than four, plus one more if a game is cancelled, and any sign-in code you ask for. Message and data rates may apply. How texts work.
Getting your data removed
Ask your organizer, or email us at hello@22stix.ca, and we will remove your contact details. Game history stays, because it is the group's record of who played.
