Pickup hockey, organized.
Twenty skaters, two goalies — a full game. 22 Stix runs the RSVPs for your pickup hockey group: who's in, who's in net, who's waiting, and fair teams in one tap.
Fair teams in one tap
The organizer taps once and gets two even sides, balanced by how people play and by the positions each player plays and will play tonight. Goalies go to a side by coin flip.

Skill ratings stay with the organizer. Players see the lineup and one word for the balance, never a number.
Built for hockey
Skaters and goalies, counted apart
Set a cap for each, like 20 skaters and 2 goalies. Everyone sees the headcount fill up.
Tendy wanted
Short a goalie? The game says so up top, so nobody finds out at the rink.
The press box
Once the game is full, the next player in waits in the press box and gets the first spot that opens.
Lines and D pairs
Two lines a side, each with a centre, two wingers and a D pair. Light jerseys vs Dark jerseys.
Every skate in your calendar
The season's games go straight into the calendar on your phone, and stay up to date.
Fees without the chasing
Season buy-ins and drop-in fees are recorded with a receipt for every payment. Goalies never pay.
On your phone
22 Stix works in your phone's browser, with nothing to download from an app store. Add it to your home screen and get a free notification when a game goes up, when you make the lineup, or when a tendy is wanted.
Game texts
Texts are optional and stay off until a player asks for them: they tick a box that starts unticked, then reply JOIN to the one text we send to confirm. Usually three texts per game and never more than four, plus one more if a game is cancelled, and any sign-in code they ask for. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.
For new groups, game texts will be an optional add-on, paid for with a season fee that covers what the texts cost us. Everything else stays free.
Private by design
- No ads, and no trackers following you around.
- We never sell or share your details.
- Skill ratings are seen only by your group's organizers.
- No player's name or group's roster ever appears on a public page. That's why the lineup above is made up.
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email or phone, so there's no password to leak.
About
22 Stix keeps the roster for pickup hockey groups: who's in for each game, who's on the waitlist, and texts you can answer IN or OUT without opening anything. Each game shows its own day, time and rink.
It started as the website of one long-standing Friday night game in Ottawa. Now any pickup group can use it, free.
Each group is run by its own organizer, who keeps that group's roster. Nothing is sold here, there is no advertising, and we don't share anyone's details. Questions go to a person: hello@22stix.ca or 613-706-9022.
Where we play: Walter Baker Sports Centre, Nepean — Ottawa, Ontario.
For players
New players are added by their group's organizer, who sends them a link to join.
